Let me help you to recharge your batteries; ground and calm yourself; take time and space just for you; soothe your nervous system; relax your muscles; and drop into deep calmness and stillness.

Why rest?

Every day you’re constantly bombarded with pressure, demands, deadlines, meeting other people’s needs. Your mind ends up in a frantic whirl and your body feels tense. Sometimes you feel SO tired, others wired and you just can’t relax.

You’re human after all! And the human body needs fuel and movement … and rest.

And it’s this third need that all too often gets overlooked in modern life! (And slumping in front of the TV is NOT truly restful by the way!)

If you don’t get enough rest, your body and mind get stuck in a stressed state.

When you are in continual stress-mode, your immune system is suppressed, your digestive system runs poorly, and your muscles are in a constant state of hyper-vigilance getting ready to fight, run or freeze in the presence of danger. (Read more about the hidden costs of stress here.)

Why Essential Rest?

This is why I offer this Essential Rest class: a deeply soothing yoga class where we focus on releasing and relaxing on a deep level and resting in stillness to relieve the stresses and strains of everyday life.

It gives you the chance to slow down and to be guided to reach a deeply relaxed state which can be hard to do for yourself.

Restorative Yoga in EastleighThis entirely floor-based class includes:

  • Restorative Yoga poses which are supported and still to soothe to release muscle tension and re-balance the nervous system.
  • Guided breathing: to slow down the mind and help you to focus on letting go of tension.
  • Yoga Nidra (aka Yogic Sleep) to take you into states of deep relaxation which have been shown to facilitate the release of the effects of stress; the integration of emotional experiences; and to bring about deep healing and restoration for body and mind.
  • Essential oils to encourage feelings of being soothed and nurtured. You will be offered, if you choose, to inhale oils from the palms of your hands and gently rub them onto your body e.g. pulse points and back of the neck.

This yoga practice is slow and mindful and still.  It enables deep rest and relaxation.

Time & place & booking

Fridays every 4-6 weeks 6.30-8pm at Pavilion on the Park, Kingfisher Road, Eastleigh, SO50 9LH {Google maps link£15 booked in advance.

You’ll need to bring:

  • A yoga mat (Ii you don’t have one please let me know as I do have a few spare)
  • Blankets (ideally 2 minimum of 1)

I’ll provide:

  • Yoga bolster,  bricks & blocks to completely support your body;
  • A lavender eye pillow to block out light and relax your eyes;
  • Essential oils.

OR if you prefer contact me to pay by online bank transfer or pay  by cash if you come to one of my classes.

Cancellation policy
Payment for this class is non-refundable unless you can find someone to take your spot if you can no longer make it. Neither is it transferable to another class.
