…. Are you a Moon Lover: that’s what I’m asking!
A Selenophile or Philoselene is someone who loves the Moon.
I do. I love to observe the beautiful waxing and waning of the light of the moon through each lunar cycle.
I find Moon-gazing connects me to a sense of life’s mystery…
For thousands of years humanity has been fascinated by the Moon and has used its waxing and waning as a guide to living life in flow with the rhythms of nature.
The Moon has longed been associated with the feminine aspect in nature: of life and death and rebirth and the monthly rhythm of the menstrual cycle, and with intuition and introversion and the deep tides of emotion we feel as human beings.
But in 21st century life, we’re constantly pushed to strive and achieve and grow; to be outgoing and team players; extroversion is lauded and introversion is judged.
We’re taught emotions are messy and should be pushed down and we’ve been programmed to believe that intuition shouldn’t be trusted – it’s just a figment of our imagination.
However, the beautiful Moon is there in the sky above, waxing and waning, every month, showing us that it is natural to ebb and flow.
Live by the moon
Pale Goddess of the witching hour;
Blest Contemplation’s placid friend.
~ Mary Darby Robinson
The Moon reminds us there is another way to live.
The Moon guides us to reclaim what we feel in our bones and in our blood.
She reminds us that it isn’t natural to live like this – in a continual state of busyness and growth and looking outside ourselves for guidance.
She reminds us that life moves in cycles.
She guides us to look within and reconnect to the wisdom of our hearts and souls.
The Moon reminds us that it’s natural to have peaks and troughs of energy; to have periods of growth and periods of falling away; to shine brightly and be out in the world sometimes and that it’s OK to turn away from the world and look within.
The Moon calls us back to our true self that is one with nature.
The Moon beckons us towards living a soul-filled, authentic, peaceful and grounded life.
More and more people are feeling this call. They’re being drawn to reconnect to nature’s rhythms and the inner guidance of intuition.
As you’re reading this, perhaps you’re one of them… So, fellow Selenophile, welcome home!
Tap into your heartfelt desires
I believe that listening to the rhythms of nature connects us to the pulse of life. We tap into the wisdom of the universe.
We’re guided to live in alignment with our deepest heartfelt desires and find our lives unfolding with greater ease and flow.
I’ve found that tuning into the waxing and waning, ebb and flow of the Moon’s cycle each month enriches your life and helps you to shift confusion and blocks so you can achieve long-held desires, dreams and goals.
When we spend time connecting to the Moon we’re guided to connect to our intuition and the wise whispers of our soul, guiding us forward on the right path.
- What are your deepest dreams?
- What is rising within you?
- What do you feel most grateful for?
- What do you need to release?
- What lessons have you learned?
This is the journey the Moon guides us through each and every month.
And when we learn to follow this guidance, we feel more grounded, trusting of life, self-accepting and spiritually nourished.
